Ambra Project Information
Ambra is the online publishing system used by the Public Library of Science and all of it's community journals. Ambra ingests scientic articles stored in a XML format into an RDF database. It is our intention to publicized these articles in a way that the semantic web can take advantage of. It is still in the early stages of development but things are coming together very rapidly.
The Ambra information model is build using Topaz and stored in customized Mulgara and Fedora servers. Ambra also makes use of an external SSO server built on top of CAS. Ambra communicates with these different servers over TCP, thus enabling a distributed production environment.
