Remove ability to Advanced Search by date from Ambra

Reported by: npeterson Owned by: rcave
Priority: critical Milestone: 0.9.2
Component: ambra Version: 0.9.1_rc1

Description

We need to remove the ability for the user to submit any date related search using the Advanced Search input. This will hang the system, and is causing production outages.

Agreed. This was quite clear from the 03/20/09 PLoS server hang.

I presume this is temporary till the underlying Mulgara issue is resolved. So the re-enabling can be set up as a "blocked-by" so that all the hacks/work-arounds that we put around the Mulgara-query performance issue can be tracked and re-enabled once the Mulgara-issue is resolved.

(In [7573]) Further removing ability to search by dates. Executing any of the date related setter methods now will have no action.

(In [7574]) This covers another use case and should be a catch all for when a user enters a date into the query string. Now, if the user enters a string of "date:" into the query they will receive a error message.

Confirmed that a date query such as (date:[2008-01-01+TO+2008-12-31]) is not allowed in the search form fields.
